Civil Protection App (CPA)

The current corona pandemic presents us with unprecedented challenges worldwide. Nowhere is this more evident than in the healthcare sector. Information technology has become an indispensable part of the management of these challenges. Based on our [i/med] workflow technology, we have developed a web app that allows patients to be monitored in the event of a disaster - here the example of the Corona pandemic.

The app is technologically based on the [i/med] Mobile foundation contained in the [i/med] Web product family. The basis for the application is our mobile solution, which already provides the basic functionalities of a patient-managed and mobile patient file:

  • Registration and release of new users
  • Rights management and data release
  • Chronologically managed media archive
  • Profile editor - Maintenance dialog for personal user data
  • Organizer - Mobile appointment booking and calendar coupling function
  • Form-based cockpit as home function

Technically, it is a pure web application with a mobile front-end design, which was created using dynamically adaptable forms for the use case of the "Corona pandemic", so that the application can also be operated on smaller displays of the mobile end devices, as well as with touch functionality. It is therefore installation-free and platform-neutral and can be started from any device by calling a URL in one of the usual browsers.

The app can be used for patients who are already in quarantine or for patients who want to monitor themselves voluntarily. It can use workflow control to generate the correct suggestions for laboratory tests, times for measurements and doctor consultations. Customizable anamnesis forms can be used to collect and evaluate the background, possible causes and symptoms of patients. It also provides an indirect means of communication for affected persons with the authorities or treating physicians via messages. It is also possible to integrate laboratory orders and communication of findings via the classic and well-proven interfaces. The patient and user of the app can always maintain an overview and control of the collected data.

 

Besides the basic functionalities the DORNER CPA Web App offers the following features:

After registration, the new user is given access to the system and is received with the information that he/she must first fill out an initial questionnaire (anamnesis sheet) before all functions of the app can be used. The user is then given access to a restricted cockpit.

If the patient follows the advice and starts the initial anamnesis, he will be asked the following list of questions. The system reacts intelligently to the answers and offers additional detailed questions, such as the question about the exact region in the case of a trip. Mandatory entries are required and validation is performed.

Quarantine monitoring

If the user answers all the questions, he can complete the anamnesis and thus activate further features of the app, e.g. the recording of vital data for the assessment of the course.

At the end of the recording of the current vital parameters, the user is asked whether an appointment for the next recording of vital data in the app should be created directly, so nothing is forgotten. Of course, the patient also receives these appointments by email for his own appointment calendar on his smartphone.

Patients can regularly record vital signs data so that you can get an overview of their health status or be actively informed of any deterioration.

The system proposes rule-based dates for the next self-check. Appointments in freely configurable facilities can also be booked flexibly by the patient himself using appointment templates and stored quotas, using intelligent resource checks.

Flexible order

Any citizen could register and participate in quarantine monitoring even before a sample is taken, so that he or she would only be asked to undergo a test if symptoms were clear and his or her condition worsened. A questionnaire checks the information provided and, if there is a high level of agreement with the defined symptoms, suggests a free date for sampling using the integrated resource management.

Mobile masks

The simple, patient-friendly web application can be started both on the smart device (mobile phone, tablet) and on the PC by simply calling up an Internet URL. For freely registered users, it always works in the same mobile mode of [i/med] Web.

 

Staff access

Full functionality and all [i/med] web features are available to the health care personnel.

The classic [i/med] Web access to patient files can be released for centrally administered accounts.

The application starts on the desktop PC with the search for orders, patients or documents. Here, too, a cockpit with corresponding features is provided for the staff.

For example, all patients can be listed with alarming values that have not yet been responded to, or new messages from the patients can be listed.

Evaluation of the data

The collected data can also be displayed in the form of maps, depending on the respective question.

With these functionalities, the mobile electronic patient file presented here offers the basis for any form of mobile patient-related app. In order to also store local resources (barcode scanner, local memory, etc.) on the user's device or a symbol on the user's Smartphone Cockpit, the EPA-Mobile can also be coupled with the DORNER Cockpit App.
