The company was founded in 1982 by Karl-Eugen Dorner in Markgräflerland in southern Baden and has concentrated from the beginning on the development of software solutions for medical laboratories. The first laboratory information systems (LIS / LIMS) were developed together with the University of Freiburg and are still state of the art today. Today DORNER is still family-owned. Both sons of the managing director and founder Karl-Eugen Dorner work in the company. The product portfolio has been further developed and supplemented.

DORNER as intercultural employer

DORNER Health IT Solutions was honored for its many years of integration work and diversity management with regard to employees of non-German origin.

The award of the "Certificate of Commitment" took place within the framework of the EU-funded project "EUDiM", which is investigating new and effective ways of dealing with cultural diversity in medium-sized companies over a period of two years. The project was initiated by a cooperation of institutions of the economy as well as social and migration research from Bayreuth, Bamberg, Rome, Barcelona and Vienna and aims at investigating the diversity management of small and medium-sized companies across several countries in order to develop recommendations for the effective handling of cultural diversity.
